When I’m Gone

67552b2dab8d249f3be7364bbb45a06b--starry-night-sky-night-skies

as i die, i always wonder
if birds will pause their chatter
if singing will bow, in the shower
if spark is found somber.

before my eyes close and i give in
to unknown and imagine,
i always wonder
if television will snail through dull scenes
if train will be. its behavior not bothered.

as i lay in depth, i can’t help but ponder
if my bed will miss me when it’s time
if pillows will repeal masks, wear sackcloths in ash

before i take my last breath, i question the ever
if eager, creative minds will hide and gnash
if fuss no longer must
if in memory, i will remain stronger
if factual stories will have me live forever.

    1. Thank you so much! There’s more where that comes from for sure. 🙂

  2. This was so pure and touching. ❤️

    1. Thank you very much! I’m glad to know my intention worked 🙂

  3. You really make it seem so easy along with your presentation but I in finding this topic to be really one thing that I feel I’d never understand. It kind of feels too complicated and extremely extensive for me. I am having a look forward on your subsequent publish, I will try to get the grasp of it!

    1. The truth is, it is not easy at all. How easily this piece came out, and how swift it feels surprised me too, when I first wrote it. And to make it more shocking, I wrote the whole thing during the five minutes right before I fell asleep a few weeks ago. But this idea of the state of the world after I die–how will my death impact the world has been something circulating in my head ever since I started acquiring a grasp on what maturity is. But I hope you’re able to digest it with time! I look forward to what I will publish too haha!

Thank you so much for your comment and for expressing how this piece impacted you. It means worlds to me.

  5. Life will trickle on as time ticks and tocks further away from your death. Its crazy to think that we only cause ripples during our time here, but those ripples are meaningful too.
