Heaven is a beautiful place, ain’t it?
Every time I realize I am still on this dark foggy road to Heaven
I give up on God.
Summon an anger from Hades’ footrest
To make my pleading clearer
Reminder of some promises that, I’m sure,
Are outdated; I’ve never heard; were not made to me, regardless.

Would it be fair if Heaven took consideration to my pleading?

Earth is a pesky place, now I can
Really see. The Angle’s view sees everything below Heaven
With a past connecting to a future
Their blindness is horrific.
For we have rules here, as they’re bounded by, there.
I know why 500 years of sufferance has to be maintained
But I have to watch it unravel to a thousand years of pain.
So it’s been about a day, and there’s no word about the Everlasting’s return on The Promise.

I watch the decaying of Earth—hell masked with glamour
Seeing the sin
Burning with pain
Knowing it’ll never rain

You’re a beauty in written and photography.

After many pictures out in the open
I’ve come to realize that you know the sun thinks so
Too.

Everything about you is nothing short of natural.
A Natural Miracle.

Maybe nature does know what love is
Maybe there’s something about it that we are all addicted to
Maybe we love not knowing about love
Maybe we want to fall for an idea. A piece of imagination.

Maybe this poem has derailed. Like my mind does, each time I see a picture
Of you.

@sircharlesthepoet

May you always find a reason to love ❤

It’s been kind of bland around here,
So spark the dark; spark the talk.
Tell me how you walk with a spark
And the reason? Well, this world is simply too dark

Tell me how you walk that walk,
You talk that talk. And it’s all good when you in the hood
How you belong on a stage, next to Eddie Murphy
But I guess, for now, we’re gonna keep your jokes to the back of the classroom

I need a funny story!
I wanna know why
That rooster was chasing your long legged aunty, in the yard
Tell me how
She ended up running all throughout town with a broken sandal even after the rooster flew away
Tell me how is it that roosters fly in your stories!

@sircharlesthepoet

Everyone is a treasure box that has the world’s most beautiful stories. I wanna know all of them. Go ahead, tell me a story. Spark up my world. Spark the dark.

Tell me a story.

Matter fact,
Tell me a joke.

Tell me about how you spend more time collecting
Dad jokes
As opposed to doing your school work

Tell me why pain makes you laugh
Right before you yell “yooo that’s fucked up! Oh my Goddd!!
I’m definitely going to hell for laughing at this”
Tell me the story of that one time you did that one thing
So ridiculous,
That you fell, got injured,
Yet you proved that laughter is still the best medicine

David was able to beat the goliath, blah blah blah
We’ve heard that story too much
This world is rather sad, and my poetry is not doing it any longer
So tell me, if it’s no bother
This time, let us try humor

I actually carry with me a folder on my phone that is filled with dad jokes
One day, I hope to go to Las Vegas to pick up some fine honeys with them
But until then, imma practice on my co-workers who have no choice but to listen to me
As I laugh at my own jokes.

It’s been mighty serious around here
I need something to make my heart jump.
Jump start my heart.
So call this comedy.
Call this your stage.
Perform.
Tell me something. Make me smile. 🙂

The Scars on our faces are what relates us,
Though different races.

A hill rises somewhere on your shining
Valley attracting everything light.
Nothing has been right but

That’s a story the slug rarely tells,
Although you’ve climbed.
Claimed victory at the peak—
Of which, we don’t often speak

The Marks on our faces are crafted,
Never draft-ed.
The artist leaving it to be, as it be
A sign of Beauty:

Scars turned around, truly.

@Sircharlesthepoet

I love beauty marks. Beauty marks remind us that a “true artist” (or someone with the right mentality) can come across something that was meant to be a scar, an unappealing mark—a mole—and see it as beauty. It takes courage and a firm, but beautiful, mindset to be able to find yourself among complete chaos, yet still be able to see the beauty in it AND keep your head space and inner peace in tact. So is it a nasty mole or a beauty mark?

Send this to someone who saw beauty in something crappy. Stay safe out there, y’all.

How can they dream?
Broken necks
While nothing’s in this world
But that screen.
That seem
To never stop glowing,
Radiating light,
Attracting sight

Pick up a damn book! But
SO MUCH
Can fit under that screen.
Enough to reconsider your sleep,
Drive you around that leap
Enough to make you a sheep.

Following a device around
In their hands but they could never catch it
Intelligence ready but will they ever hatch it?

So tell me,
How can these people dream
When heaven glows
Right in their palm?

Hello everyone!

If you have been following my blog for a while then you will notice that, lately, I have been much more active on this blog. I have been posting more and interacting with followers, potential followers, and blogs that I follow much more! That is because, as many of you may know, I recently graduated from college. Therefore, I have more time on my hands. So I am using that time to write, be more active on my blog, Instagram page, YouTube page and Facebook page.

Of course, one of the main reasons why I am being more active on these pages is that I want to grow. Unfortunately, I cannot grow without YOU, my followers–new and old–who interact with my content every day. Therefore, I would like to give back to you guys by making sure that I post content that you enjoy (poetry and videos, of course)!

So, please comment below what you would like to read about more, on my page. What you like to read about the most and other topics and type of contents that you want to see more of, on my page. All of that is to help me grow and to make your journey on my blog more enjoyable!

Thank you very much, and please comment!

I HAVE AMAZING NEWS TO SHARE!!!

I recently released my first book of poems, “Black and White”! Black and White is a collection of poems that speak about racial oppression in America. In this book, there are poems about police violence, Islamophobia and culture appropriation, just to name a few. Besides the value and significance that each of the poems have, this book is also self published! Everything that went into the creation of this project–from the writing and editing to the formatting and biding–was created by yours truly!

In addition to the poems in the book, Black and White also has a series of pieces that I call, “notes”. The notes serve several purposes. In a poetry book, there often is the circumstance where, although there is a theme across all of the poems, the poems stand awkwardly alone–as opposed to a novel, where everything naturally lead on to the next. The notes bridge the gap between the individual poems. They make the book fill more whole, and they complete the message of the book. These notes are ideas/lines that came to mind as I put the book together. They’re portions of poems that did not make it to the final version of the book, but they screamed a necessity to be in the book. These notes are random lines that only make sense after you finish reading the book. These notes make the book!

HOW TO GET BLACK AND WHITE:

If you’ve been enjoying my poetry and/or you would like to have your own copy of Black and White, there are two ways that you could do so. The first one is by having me mail you a physical copy. If you would like a physical copy of Black and White, please let me know below, in the comments section. I will then give you my email and, from there, we can email back and forth about how to get you the book. The book is FREE SHIPPING for any locations within the United States.

The second way to get the book (which might be more convenient for those outside of the states) is by getting a digital copy. I have an account with the website: Sellfy, where a PDF version of the book can be purchased. WARNING: in order to purchase through that website, you NEED to have a PayPal account. If you don’t have a PayPal account, but you would still like to have a digital copy, comment below and we will decide on something. Finally, you can purchase the digital version of Black and White here.

PRICE:

Now, for our favorite part: cost of purchase. The digital and the physical copy of Black and White are both $10. But if you are not able to commit to the full price, I will accept any payment that is above $5 for the physical copy of the book. I accept payments via PayPal, Venmo, CashApp and Zelle. If you’re not able to complete a transaction through any of these, please let me know and we will decide on something. Due to taxes and laws that I have to abide by with Sellfy, I cannot allow that option for the purchase of the digital copy. Therefore, the price of the digital copy is $10.

FINAL COMMENT:

Thank you immensely to everyone for reading my work or even going as far as financially investing into my work. Every action that I take with my writing is a risk and a dare that I give myself, and with each new thing that I accomplish, all of my gratitude goes to you all for supporting me. Thank you immensely. If you have any comments or questions, please comment them below. If you would like a copy of the book, please comment below, as well.

Thank you immensely for your support!!!
